Situated on the walkway that runs along Gran Canaria's most beautiful beach, the Aida is at the center of the Playa del Inglés, the renowned tourist destination on the southwest of the Gran Canaria Island. From the Residence, you can reach both the beaches as well as the lively center of Playa del Inglés, with its famous shopping malls the Kasbah, Metro, and Plaza. The Piazza de Maspalomas (300 feet from the Aida Residence) is the heart of the nightlife: stores of every type, restaurants, pubs, and nightclubs guarantee a fun-filled evening. Less than 700 feet from the Aida apartments is the Maspalomas Dunes Natural Reserve (the Oasis), an incredible beach of fine golden sand where the ocean's crystalline waters lap against Sahara-like dunes ringed by palm groves. In addition to the beautiful beach in front of the residence and the nearby Maspalomas Oasis, there are many other exquisite beaches within a few miles of the Aida Residence, such as the Playa des Amadores, just to name one.
The Aida Residence is well-connected by bus (stop 300 feet away) to the airport and the theme parks around Maspalomas. You can easily reach the splendid Palmitos Park with thousands of orchids and tropical birds, Aqualand water park, and Mundo Aborigen theme park. The Maspalomas Lighthouse, that at 213 feet towers over the spectacular landscape of the southernmost point in Europe, is definitely worth a visit.
Less than 2 miles from the apartments you'll find Maspalomas Golf, one of the most prestigious 18-hole golf courses in the Canary Islands, and the Convenciones y Congresos Center, a modern conference complex.
The Aida Residence apartments are also an excellent starting point for discovering the area around Playa del Inglés and Maspalomas. You can enjoy the vast natural wealth and the historic towns of Gran Canaria, the main island of the Canary Island archipelago. To name a few sites: Mogàn, a tiny tourist port 18 miles from the residence, Puerto Rico, with its splendid white beach 25 miles from the apartments, Aguimes and Ingenio, 9 miles away. Make sure to spend a whole day in Las Palmas, the island's capital, 40 miles from the Aida Residence.
Known as the “small continent,” Gran Canaria features landscapes varying from golden beaches lapped by the ocean, to the desertic dunes of Maspalomas, to high peaks swathed in uncontaminated nature and reaching altitudes up to 6,400 feet with the Pico de Las Nieves at the center of the island. Because of these unique elements, Gran Canaria has been named the World Biosphere Reserve. Its many caminos, paths for walking, mountain biking, and bicycling, let visitors discover the natural wonders of the island year round, thanks to the moderate temperatures.

By plane
From the Gran Canaria Airport (20 miles from the Aida Residence), you can reach the Residence by taxi or by taking bus No. 66 from the airport in the direction of Faro de Maspalomas. Get off at Playa del Inglés, in Plaza des Maspalomas. The Aida Residence is 300 feet from the stop, at 1 Calle de Helsinki.
By car
If you rented a car at the airport, take highway GC-1 towards Maspalomas and continue for 18 miles. Get off at exit 43 and follow signs for Playa del Inglés. Once you enter an inhabited area, follow signs for Centro / Playa del Inglés. Upon reaching Playa del Inglés, follow signs for the Templo Ecumenico. You are almost there: the Aida Residence is on the walkway in front of the beach, at 1 Calle de Helsinki.
